Summer Reading Group

CITL will offer an 8-hour Summer Reading Group during June, led by Grad Affiliate Kathleen McGowan. The text will be James M. Lang's Small Teaching (2^nd ed., 2021). The group will meet in person 4 times during June on the 11^th, 13^th, 18^th, and 20^th to discuss the book and workshop some applications of its materials for use in participants' current and future classrooms. Students of all disciplines are encouraged to join—please register by May 24th. 

Please check your calendar to determine if you can commit to attending all four meetings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 11-20. After registration closes on May 24, you will be contacted by Kathleen to set up specific times and a location that works for everyone. You will be responsible for securing your own copy of the book, and it seems to be available through the University library.

This reading group counts as workshop hours towards the Certificate in Foundations of Teaching, the Graduate Teacher Certificate, or the Teacher Scholar Certificate.
