About the Tuition & Fees
The AY 2026–27 tuition has been approved by the Board of Trustees. Tuition is charged per semester, not per credit. The tuition rate is the same regardless of the number of credits taken, up to a maximum of 20 credits per semester.
The AY 2026–27 fees have also been approved by the Board of Trustees and are calculated based on the number of semester hours for which you are registered. The Student Health Insurance Fee* and International Student Fee* for AY 2026–27 are still pending approval.
Additional Expenses
"Additional Expenses" vary depending on your lifestyle and spending habits. These expenses may include your housing choice and whether you plan to use a university meal plan, prepare most of your meals, or eat out frequently.
- Books & Supplies: Costs may vary depending on the courses you are taking.
- Food & Housing: Based on reasonable but modest costs derived from surveys of segments of our student population.
- Other Expenses: Based on reasonable but modest costs derived from surveys of segments of our student population. These include allowances for transportation, clothing, recreation, and other living expenses.

Our Illinois Tuition Guarantee program ensures that you will pay the same tuition rate each semester based on your entry term, even if tuition increases in future years. This helps make your overall tuition costs more predictable and manageable.
